Geography Department Organized an Event on "Geography Teaching in the Ministry of National Education and Career Pathways"
The Department of Geography organized an event titled "Geography Teaching in the Ministry of National Education and Career Pathways" on 5 May 2026 to contribute to students' professional development and increase their awareness of teaching as a career. The event featured Rıdvan Doğan, a Geography teacher at the Ministry of National Education (MoNE), as the invited speaker and was attended by 32 students from the department.
During the event, participants were provided with comprehensive information about the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the teaching profession within the Ministry of National Education, as well as career opportunities in the education sector and the teacher recruitment process. The speaker also addressed lesson planning and classroom instruction, effective classroom management, and the importance of teacher–student communication.
Drawing on his professional experience, Rıdvan Doğan shared valuable insights into the practical aspects of the teaching profession. He also introduced the various career paths and employment opportunities available to Geography teachers, offering guidance to students on planning their future careers.
The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed responses regarding the teaching profession and career development.
